Data Posters at Rathaus Leutzsch

This project was partially funded by the Georg-Schwarz-Strasse neighbourhood fund. Graphic design for the posters was done in part by Actu Tactu.
Motivation
Every day around 1,000 people wait at the Rathaus Leutzsch tram and bus stop. Whether it’s a short or long wait, there is nothing to look at:

In spring 2018 I moved into a ground-floor space at this stop, with the idea of filling the large storefront windows with information. The goal was to present relevant, high-quality data visualisations in a neutral, public space.
I believe everyone should have access to unbiased data and its presentation. In an era of fake news, sensationalist data journalism, and emotionalised campaigns, this is becoming harder. It is the responsibility of experts to provide objective truths without social barriers and without embellishment — if necessary, in public spaces.
